Azarbaijan Earthquake

Iran, Azarbaijan 2012.

On Saturday afternoon, August 11, The twin earthquakes measuring 6.2 and 6.3 on the Richter scale struck the provincial cities of Ahar and Varzeqan in the north-eastern province of Azarbaijan. This disaster-damaged more than 230 villages, at least 260 people were killed, over 3,000 injured and devastated homes to approximately 10000 people.

"Azarbaijan Earthquake" won the Runner-Up award in professional category in CLICK ABOUT IT, an international photography competition organized by the European Journalism Centre.
